Berlin, 4 October 2007. More and more European consumers increasingly prefer healthy, ready-to-eat foods – especially fresh fruit and vegetables. Over the past few years, this has resulted in a rapidly growing demand for fresh-cut convenience products. The opportunities for market players in this sector are the main focus of the FRESHCONEX Congress taking place in Berlin on 6 February 2008. In the morning session of the full-day conference, experts will analyse the fresh-cut convenience market and its significance for the food retail sector. In the afternoon sessions, the key theme will be "Fresh-Cut for Food Service".
The Congress will kick-off the inaugural FRESHCONEX trade fair, which starts a day later, running from 7-9 February 2008, and is hosted by Messe Berlin.
The FRESHCONEX Congress is organised by Eurofruit Magazine, the world's leading conference organiser for the fresh produce trade, in cooperation with the United Fresh Produce Association, the international trade association for the fresh-cut convenience sector. The conference is expected to attract 400 top decision-makers from across the fresh-cut convenience world. This event will take place for the first time on 6 February 2008, one day before the opening of the FRESHCONEX and FRUIT LOGISTICA 2008 trade fairs at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.
