Berlin, 2 November 2007 – Lars Jaeger is the new project manager at Messe Berlin who will head the International Green Week. The 38-year old graduate in business management takes over from Hans-Henning Schmidt who for the last 30 years has managed the world’s largest consumer show for agriculture, the food industry and horticulture, and who is now retiring. A huntsman born in Waren an der Mritz, he graduated as an engineer specialising in the meat trade at the Agricultural Engineering School in Oranienburg and also studied economics at the University of Rostock. Jaeger has also been a farming entrepreneur, a senior business employee at Messe- und Ausstellungsgesellschaft Rostock mbH, and an authorised signatory at Messe- und Ausstellungsgesellschaft Mhlengeez GmbH, organisers of MeLa, the largest agricultural show in the north of Germany. Jaeger joined Messe Berlin in October 2005 and was initially in charge of agriculture at the International Green Week. Since Schmidt’s departure Jaeger has also taken over as project manager of the Green Week.
