conference attracts major market players

Berlin, 12 November 2007. FRESHCONEX, which takes for the first time in Berlin from 7-9 February 2008, is shaping up for a highly successful debut.

Major players in the fresh-cut convenience sector have already signed up for the inaugural three-day trade fair which takes place at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds in conjunction with FRUIT LOGISTICA 2008.

Some 60 fresh-cut convenience companies from 11 countries worldwide will be presenting their products and services on 2,400 m2 of display space in Halls 7.2a and 7.2b where FRESHCONEX will take place.

FRESHCONEX exhibitors include leading fresh-cut convenience companies such as Agricoat Industries (UK), Bakkavr – 5eme Saison – 4G (France), Convenience AG (Germany), Eisberg Group (Switzerland), Florette (France), Fresh Factory (Germany), FRUCTOFRESH (Poland), Hessing Supervers (Netherlands), TURATTI (Italy), Univeg – Legumex Convenience (Belgium) and W. Heemskerk (Netherlands).

With FRESHCONEX, Messe Berlin offers the fast-growing fresh-cut convenience market its own unique information and business platform in Europe. An important added benefit for trade professionals is the fact FRESHCONEX is the only trade event of its kind that runs parallel to a major international fresh produce trade fair. The combination with FRUIT LOGISTICA gives fresh-cut convenience professionals who are visiting the trade fair a comprehensive overview of the opportunities to source raw materials for their value-added products and services.

Moreover, the opportunities for growth in the fresh-cut convenience sector will be the key theme at the FRESHCONEX Congress on 6 February 2008. The full-day conference programme focuses on key market trends, with an analysis of the industry's impact both on food retail and on food service. The Freshconex Congress is organised by Eurofruit Magazine, organiser of the world’s leading fresh produce conference events, in co-operation with the United Fresh Produce Association, the international association for the fresh-cut sector. Some 400 top decision-makers from the fresh-cut industry are set to attend the congress, which takes place on the day before FRESHCONEX 2008 and FRUIT LOGISTICA 2008 open at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

The FRESHCONEX Business Forums in Hall 7.2a offers participants a series of concise information presentations that spotlight the latest innovations in the fresh-cut convenience industry. Topics range from Better Technology for Fresh-Cut (7 Feb.) and Better Marketing for Fresh-Cut (8 Feb.) to Better Food Safety for Fresh-Cut (9. Feb.).

FRESHCONEX 2008 is open daily on 7 - 9 February from 9:00am to 6:00pm. The Online Ticketing Service (www.freshconex.com => Visitor Info => Tickets) offers great price advantages. One-day ticket: EUR 22 (EUR 25 at the gate). Three-day pass: EUR 53 (EUR 60 at the gate). A ticket to the FRESHCONEX Congress (incl. trade fair admission) costs EUR 250 online (EUR 295 at the gate). All tickets include a complimentary trade show catalogue and admission to FRUIT LOGISTICA.
