Berlin, 26 November 2007 – Green Week visitors eager for diversion and with lots of stamina will be able to enjoy Berlin’s nightlife immediately after the fair. The German capital has an attractive programme of entertainment and cultural events lined up in January. More than 6,000 restaurants, bars and clubs will make visiting Berlin a real experience. Be it entertainment, sports, shopping or cultural events, Berlin is open all hours. From 24 to 29 January, sports enthusiasts will be able to cheer on international cycling pros at the Berlin Six Days event at the Velodrom. Every evening fans of music and cultural events can choose from three opera houses and more than 150 theatres. For example, why not visit the hit musical "Phantom of the Opera" at the ICC Berlin on 27 January, or sway rhythmically along to the music of the Kastelruther Spatzen (on 23 January at the ICC Berlin), or let the Musikantenstadl with Stefanie Hertel & Stefan Mross and Patrick Lindner inspire you at the Max-Schmeling-Halle. For all art lovers the "Long Night of the Museums" on 26 January is a highlight not be missed. Some 70 museums will remain open until late at night. A single ticket grants holders entry to exhibitions, readings and theatre performances.
Berlin will also be offering its visitors additional opportunities for shopping on "open" Sunday, on 20 January 2008, when shops can open between 1 and 8 p.m.
